Flood Control Measure in Tainan, Taiwan

◎ Description：

                   Several districts in Tainan City have been suffering from severer flooding on rainy days for many years. Besides them located in the lowlands, these districts direct the water into a river that is intercepted by a highway, causing draining difficulty. The city government carried out a long-term flood control project. In recent years, emergency dewatering projects, pumping stations, and detention ponds are built along the river. The facilities that installed 0.4kW to 45kW HCP PUMP AF Series Submersible Sewage/Wastewater Pump with a maximum discharge of 1080m3/hour and 37kW to 75kW LA Series Submersible Axial Flow Pump with a maximum discharge of 3600m3/hour that have visibly reduced flooding during rainy seasons. To ensure the pumps are functioning properly, HCP PUMP staff prioritizes the maintenance of the facilities along the river. The flood control project has shown significant results that the residents are suffering less property damage.
